What Our Pieces Are Made From
Every piece in our range starts as a sheet of high quality steel in various thicknesses depending on the product. What happens to it next is what makes the difference. Here is how our pieces are cut, finished, and built to handle a British garden.
Cut by laser
Every design is laser cut rather than stamped. That is how we get thin stems, feathered edges, and wildlife detail that still reads clearly from across a garden. It also means cuts are clean, precise and accurately represent the design.
Natural rust that protects
Corten is not ordinary steel left to go rusty. It contains copper and chromium, which make the rust form a dense layer that seals the surface instead of flaking away. Your piece deepens from orange to a rich russet over the first year, then settles. Nothing to seal or treat.
Colours that hold
Our black, sage, and coloured finishes are baked on rather than painted. The coating ends up thicker and tougher than paint, wraps around every cut edge, and will not chalk or fade the way cheap garden furniture does after a couple of summers.
No Maintaning
An occasional wipe with a damp cloth is all any piece needs. There is nothing to seal, oil, or bring indoors before winter. Frost, rain, and snow are all part of what these materials were chosen to handle.
